A shark will swim silently underneath the prey, which often doesn’t know the shark is there. Then, with lightning speed, the shark gives the prey a deep bite. It lets the prey bleed until the animal is weak or dead.It is harder for animals to hunt alone than with a group. But these sharks have sharp senses that make them very successful hunters. They can see and hear as well as or better than killer whales. And they have some special senses that killer whales don’t have. First of all, they have a much better sense of smell. It is so strong that they can find one drop of blood in twenty-five gallons of water. They can even smell small amounts of blood miles away in the ocean.
