Read the procedural text.Making your own pizza dough is easy and inexpensive. An electric mixer with a dough hook makes the mixing and kneading process less labor intensive; however, if you are willing to put a little muscle into the process, the kitchen equipment you need couldn’t be more basic. In addition to the staple ingredients of every good bread dough—just four ingredients and water—a bowl and a spoon are all you need.DirectionsIn a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 pound, 4.25 ounces of bread flour; 1 teaspoon of rapid-rise yeast; and 1.5 teaspoons of salt (preferably kosher salt).Add 14 ounces of cold water and 2 ounces of extra-virgin olive oil. Mix well, scraping the flour from the sides and bottom of the bowl as you go, until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. On a countertop, hand-knead an additional 1 to 3 tablespoons of flour into the dough until the dough becomes easier to work. Knead for approximately 5 minutes.Allow the finished dough to rise in a covered bowl for 2 to 3 hours.
