How did the lab activities help you answer the lesson question "How do the processes of conduction, convection, and radiation help distribute energy on Earth?" What did you learn from conducting this lab?
The lab activities demonstrated that heat energy is transferred in three distinct ways. I learned that conduction occurs through direct contact, such as heat moving through aluminum foil. Convection transfers energy through the movement of fluids, which I observed in water. Radiation transfers energy through electromagnetic waves, as shown by the heat from the light bulb reaching the paper. Together, these processes explain how solar energy reaches Earth and is redistributed through the atmosphere, oceans, and land.
