In a short paragraph, describe what you discovered about firefighting that you had previously not known.

Correct Answer:

I discovered that firefighting includes many specialized roles, not just putting out building fires. I had not known that Navy firefighters often work in cramped shipboard spaces and must focus heavily on rescuing fellow sailors during emergencies at sea. I also learned that wild land firefighters face very different conditions, battling large unpredictable fires across huge outdoor areas. This showed me that firefighters need different training depending on the environments and hazards they face.
