Tim is trying to explain to his aunt how her computer works, but she does not understand what a CPU does. Which description will most likely help Tim’s aunt understand the CPU’s role?

The CPU (central processing unit) carries out instructions, or commands, given by software. It processes those commands to perform calculations and coordinate the computer’s work. So “The CPU processes commands from software” best describes its role; storing data is mainly handled by memory or storage devices.
