What is the definition of discourse?

Discourse is communication or discussion about a subject, often involving the exchange of ideas and consideration of different perspectives. Therefore, the best answer is “an exchange of ideas in which all sides are discussed.” A lecture is only one-way communication, and discourse does not require either disagreement or its absence.
