In 1980, Pedro fled from Cuba as a teenager to escape persecution. He traveled via a small boat, landed in Florida, and eventually settled in Miami. At first, it was a struggle to survive in a new place. He had to find a place to live, learn a new language, and earn an income. While working at a restaurant during the day, he took classes at night to gain an education. He studied business and decided to save up money to open his own restaurant one day. Now, more than 40 years later, he owns three restaurants across South Florida.
